Located in the beautiful and secluded Amesbury Neighborhood in Shorewood, MN, Elsbernd Voice Studio offers classical & contemporary singing technique and musical instruction to singers age 15 – adult.

Jerry Elsbernd draws on a wealth of experiences and perspectives to aid his students in allowing their voices to develop and thrive.  His knowledge of vocal anatomy, combined with his innate musicality and interpretive skills as a performer provide a unique holistic approach to the development of his students’ performance skills – served up with a healthy dose of humor…because we can take the craft seriously without taking ourselves too seriously…it’s all about balance, after all, right?!

WELCOME!

Learning to sing is an incredible lifetime investment for yourself or your child. Among many other benefits, studies have shown singing can help improve mental and physiological health, improve communication skills, boost confidence, lower stress levels, help with sleep, improve posture and lung capacity, cognitive skills and grades, and even strengthen your immune system – not to mention the immeasurable things like the joy it can bring!

I love working with singers (ages 15 and up) to help them discover their voices, develop their performance skills and artistry, and learn the language of music.

LET YOUR VOICE THRIVE!

My teaching studio is a friendly and welcoming atmosphere with an emphasis on supportive, fun and creative ways to release your individual voice, personality, and artistry through the study of excellent quality music in a variety of styles and genres.

I also help students prepare for serious music endeavors including music theatre auditions and role preparation, post-secondary music program placement auditions, professional gigs, contests, cabaret & coffeehouse performances, and other vocal gigs in a variety of venues.

Please let me know your musical goals so I can help you get the most from each lesson!

SUPPORT OF YOUNG SINGERS

Young singers of all ages need support and guidance at home to be successful in music lessons. Setting up regular and effective practice routines at home is paramount – please let me know if you need some helpful suggestions.

Better with written directions?

DRIVING:

Take Highway 7 west of I-494 past Excelsior to stoplight at Cty. Rd. 41 (approx. 6 miles west of I-494). Turn right as if into CUB parking lot. Take an immediate left on the frontage road. As you wind around CUB Foods, the frontage road becomes Lake Linden Drive, which ends at a “T” intersection. Go right on Yellowstone Trail, then take a quick left on Minnetonka Dr. to 3rd house on the left.

PARKING:

When you arrive, please either use my driveway to turn around or go to the next intersection (Elder Turn) to make a U-turn before parking on the street directly in front of my house, facing south in front of our yard/planting area. Please do not use the neighbors’ driveways to turn around and be careful not to block anyone’s mailbox or to park on the grass, and please keep your tires on the pavement.

STUDIO ENTRANCE:

Walk up the driveway and follow the sidewalk around the left side of the garage.  You will come to a gate. If closed, reach over the gate and pull up on the plunger latch to release it. Proceed forward a few steps to the stoop in front of the sliding glass door.  On your right, you will see an exterior staircase “hidden” between the house and the rear of the garage.  Ascend the steps and cross the upper deck to the studio entrance.
